crane occupation halts construction of europes largest nanotech centre.

From 8 a.m. this morning, a group of people has occupied a crane of the Minatec building site in Grenoble (france), to stop work for the day. The occupying ones, supported by protestors on the ground, unrolled a banner against nanotechnologies and distributed leaflets to passers by inviting them to come to join them (see leaflet below in french).

Minatec is set to be the largest centre for Nanotechnologies in Europe and is currently being built next to the site of the super-collider in Grenoble.

Since 8 o'clock this monday december 13th, a group is occupying a Minatec's building
site's crane, in order to interrupt the construction for a day (two banners have been tied: "we stop everything" and "nanotechs = giga-control"). The
occupiers, supported by demonstrators on the ground, have unrolled a
banner against nanotechnologies (« here the industry of
totalitarianism »)
and distributed some tracts to the passers-by, calling them to join them
fast.

German industry pushing for nuclear waste dump

The German government, industry and anti-nuclear activists are arguing publicly again about final storage of nuclear waste. Industry wants a salt deposit experts condemn as unsafe. The activists want it scrapped altogether. And the environment minister is promising examination of three new sites but hasn’t moved on that in six years.
The president of the federation of industry, BDI, Michael Rogowski, has criticised the plans of environment minister, Jürgen Trittin (Greens), to start a fresh search for one storage for waste of varying radioactive intensities.

poland: police illegally attack Częstochowa squat

people, alleging drug charges, spreading reports about drug charges
