Barnardo's, Cedars and the Red Lines
15-04-2013 16:45
Barnardo's, the childrens charity received some support in the liberal media following the breaking of one of their charity shop window's in Brixton last week. When a statement was released explaining the direct action linking it to Barnardos involvement with the UK Border Agency’s new Pre-Departure Accommodation (PDA) at Cedars, West Sussex, some parts of the media were ready with Barnardos own 7 'red lines' which would need to be crossed for the charity to 'withdraw' its 'services' from CedarsCan spy cases be investigated objectively in Finland?
15-04-2013 15:50
This follow-up article may explain how influential Russia is in Finland, how people in different bureau may support Russia by making blocking leaks to them, and how some people on government posts are breaking laws either accidentally or on purpose. On the other hand, has this been proofed or ran research on, as Finnish Police and The Guardian of The Law is in charge of such investigations instead of an independent bureau? When found facts are combined to other indicators like spying for Russia, carefully twisted political statements told in mass media for manipulating purposes and systematically made blocking, one may ask who is running the State?Attacks on Mitie in Bristol

The international peace network, War Resisters' International (WRI) supports the Day of Action on Military Spending taking place worldwide on 15 April.WRI strives against all causes of war, as affirmed in its foundation declaration: “War is a crime against humanity”. The military-industrial complex is as strong as ever - war profiteers continue to make a killing from war. They do this with support from governments who see military strength as the most useful tool for imposing their influence. The stronger your military power, the more influence you have. This means that governments spend millions to arm themselves. The latests figures from the 2013 Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) annual report show a slight decrease in military spending of 0.5 percent, but in 2012 worldwide, we still spent $1.75 trillion on weapons to kill each other. It's hard to imagine what this money could do if spent more productively. A graphic produced by WRI member AA-MOC will give you some ideas.

Jock Palfreeman is an Australian whose only crime was to try and defend two Roma boys from a rampaging gang of armed fascist hooligan. In defending them and himself from attack, one of the hooligans died and another was wounded. The two Roma boys escaped safely but Jock ended up sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder and facing a massive fine which he cannot pay and is now being used as a ransom demand by the Bulgarian authorities. An International Week Of Solidarity on 22nd-28th April has been organised. Here's how you can help.Complain to BBC over misreporting of attendance at Traf.Sq anti-Thatcher party
15-04-2013 08:32
On the BBC News broadcast at 10pm on BBC1 on the evening of Saturday 13th April 2013, the news report about the demonstration in Trafalgar Square against Baroness Thatcher's legacy misreported the number of people who were in attendance at the demonstration, stating that only a few hundred people were present. This was a mistake of such glaring misrepresention that it reeks of an apparant agenda to play down the significance of the level of attendance at the event, which was in actual fact in the region of between 2-3000 people. It suggests a politically biased agenda to downplay the level of feeling against Lady Thatcher and her legacy by the BBC.Write in to the BBC on their online Complaints form. The more the better! Don't let them get away with it!
