About 500 people from France, the UK, Iraq and Afghanistan joined up for a demonstration in the streets of Calais to express the need to defend refugee rights. In addition for the core demand for freedom of movement across borders, they demanded temporary humanitarian support for the thousands of refugees who are left without shelter since the closure of the Red Cross camp in Sangatte on November 5th. Here is a report from one participant:

17-12-2002 09:55Get writing letters to your MP people. If we want to stop this war, we have to let our leaders aware of our displeasure. Here is a letter I wrote, feel free to copy all or part and send to your own MP.

They Also shot a bunch of Palestinain school kids (but this is OK because it was on purpose).
For months the police and intelligence agencies have claimed that Copenhagen would be a battlefield of raging violence during the EU-summit. If there is violence, they will tell: We predicted it. If there is none, they'll say: We prevented it. The following photos tell another story.

16-12-2002 16:02Rushmoor Borough Council are trying to ram through a planning
application for TAG Aviation for their unwanted business airport
at Farnborough. The agenda is seriously flawed and extremely
biased. It includes reports on behalf of TAG and two reports from
ERM. But although the ERM supplementary report contains extensive
out-of-context quotes from myself, reports from myself and other
objectors are not being placed before the planning committee. To
aid the process, Rushmoor have applied a little 'greenwash' from ERM.
