On the 31st of May Israeli troops boarded and attacked ships carrying
humanitarian aid bound for the blockaded Gaza Strip in Palestine while
sailing in International waters. Nine peace activists were killed.
Around 100 people protested in Bradford city centre to show solidarity
with the people of Palestine and their disgust at Israel's actions.

North Yorks Counter Terrorist Unit has arrested two or more people, raided and searched at least two addresses and visited other addresses, apparently in connection with kayak training last month.
At lunchtime on Wednesday 26th May two addresses in Belper, Derbyshire, were raided by the West Yorkshire Counter Terrorist Unit.

Two quite huge demonstrations were held in two German cities on Saturday June 12. The demonstrations were aimed against the coming cuts that the government claims are necessary, partly because of the crisis. The slogan was: "We are all Greek". A composer from West Yorkshire has released a single, ‘Ringtonic', which is unique in its being constructed from the sounds of telephone noises and mobile phone ringtones. The track uses various telephone ringing sounds, text message alerts, dial-tones and even a speech sample of an announcer telling people to switch off their mobile phones.
