04-03-2009 10:56Last week five men under bail conditions facing deportation back to Algeria and Jordan had their cases heard in SIAC. The judge decided to adjourn and to let the men stay out on bail. Jacqui Smith over ruled the judge and arrested them all that night-and a further hearing the following morning saw them released. How much did that cost in SIAC? Thousands. Your information, your family's information, arbitrarily used without your consent or even knowledge. The very reverse of 'Data Protection'.

It would be nice to think that was down to conservation efforts in attempt to mitigate against climate change but really our thanks should go to those who have bought the worlds economy to a stand still. It's interesting that the recession is currently doing more to curb green house gas emissions than any international climate change treaty has yet to manage.
