The 300-350 Show: Civil Society for Climate Justice

Just before the start of the historic UN climate talks open in Copenhagen, UK civil society will come together and encircle the Houses of Parliament to demand that the UK and Europe do much, much more than they have pledged so far in order to seal a fair and effective climate agreement. The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition brings together over 100 member organisations who in turn have members amassing to around 11 million people – one in six of the population. We speak to SCC director, Ashok Sinha, about what they have planned for the day and about their policy platform.

I read with amazement the ‘revelations’ concerning war criminal Tony Blair’s visit to Camp Crawford in March 2002 where Bush/Blair decided that ‘regime change’ was the order of the day. But there’s nothing new about these ‘revelations’, indeed I and many others reported this meeting literally years ago.

Occupied Berkeley: The Taking of Wheeler Hall

Goodooga, northwest NSW, 26 November – Euahlayi activist Michael Anderson says the organisation being put together by Tom Calma totally ignores the more aggressive Aboriginal voices and will have prominent conservative Aborigines as key stakeholders. Cegielski plant: Ceasefire with the management but the struggle continues!

Industial dispute at Cegielski plant in Poznan, western Poland between independent trade union IP and the management of the plant ended up on Wednesday night with significant victory for IP: unlawfully sacked union stewards will come back to work (and the management will recognize 5 other IP activists as a stewards), there will be no further mass layoffs at the plant, and the salaries will not be decreased untill the end of the year. In exchange, IP will suspend further protests at the plant.
