As the Big Green Gathering (BGG) 2007 programme explained, the 'Be the Media' tent in the Campaigns field hosted "a series of presentations, discussions and practical workshops around DIY media in all its forms: from print publications, radical radio and video activism, to the 'new' media of internet websites, blogging, podcasts and streaming" and also covered "less conventional media such as street art, graffiti, stencilling..."

In the wake of this weekend's mass breakout at Campsfield, several of
us have decided to hold demonstrations and briefings OUTSIDE OUR
LOCAL IMMIGRANT PRISONS AT MID-DAY TOMORROW, TUESDAY. These coincide
with the regular monthly picket of COMMUNICATIONS HOUSE - the secret
Home Office prison and "disappearance point" that's smack in the
middle of London, on the Old Street roundabout (see below).

Tancredo would have us believe “al-Qaeda,” the database, has nukes and is itching to use them, and thus we should be ready to bomb and destroy religious sites and kill thousands of people, all of them quite innocent of any crime against Tancredo or the United States. Of course, “al-Qaeda,” the legend of scary campfire stories, does not have nukes and will not pull off a terrorist attack, nuclear or otherwise, unless it is politically advantageous for the neocons.

Immigration detention: unworkable (after Campsfield's latest riots)

Locking up innocent people in detention centres - or immigration removal centres (IRCs) as they are now called, is not only cruel, inhumane and degrading: it is unworkable.
Hunger strikes and uprisings have been part of life in detention centres since these monstrous institutions first opened, but have dramatically escalated in the past few years as the UK government are detaining increasing numbers of increasingly desperate people.
