A retired judge has investigated the Police killing of Azelle Rodney in 2005 and found that there was "no lawful justification" for shooting him repeatedly.
In what is by now the typical whitewash by Police and IPCC, the previous findings held that they were in the clear over the shooting. Once more, their lies and cover up have been exposed.
In 2013, Municipality of Sofia continue to run animal control based primarily on removing of tens of thousands of stray dogs and the number of local animal shelters increased to five in the past several years.
Hundreds of people bombarded Marks & Spencer on social media on Wednesday night after the company boasted of their use of workfare earlier in the week.
The company were forced to lock down their facebook page in an attempt to silence criticism and are now preventing people from posting on their wall. This has simply led to people leaving hundreds of comments threatening to boycott the company on their gaudy posts advertising over-priced food instead.
The ‘workfare party on the M&S facebook page’ as one person described it seemed to be holding strong on Thursday morning whilst the company haven’t fared any better on twitter where they can be found @marksandspencer.
Aim: to share information and build a campaign to stop a biofueled power plant in the new development at Battersea Power Station that will damage the climate, destroy rainforests, biodiversity, habitats (including the Orangutans) and POLLUTE LOCAL PEOPLE.

On Wednesday the 3rd of July a solidarity rally took place in front of the German embassy in London. The protest campaign supported the struggle of the so-called Non-Citizens in Munich/Germany whose hunger strike was forcefully ended when they were violently removed from the square they and supporters had occupied a week ago.

Boycott Workfare's national week of action is coming up soon, with events confirmed for Sheffield, Brighton, Glasgow and London, and more on the way.
American citizens planned revolt is set to begin on its "Independence Day" July 4, 2013 that was cancelled by the U.S. President for the first time in recent history so, this likely ignited tensions in what could easily turn into a day of bloody insurrection for The Colonies that will live in historical infamy once again.

We will give more updates as soon as we can, but the short story is that we urgently need people to come to site to help us plan. We’ve just heard that we lost our appeal in the UK’s second-highest court so the landowner now has a live possession order. We don’t know the landowner’s plans, so we don’t know whether or when he will apply for a warrant from the County Court for bailiffs, and beyond then whether or when he might hire bailiffs.

On June 26th, Nkululeko Gwala, an Abahlali baseMjondolo member, and a well known and respected housing activist, was murdered in Cato Crest. Twelve shots were fired. The style of this assassination is very similar to the assassination of Thembinkosi Qumbelo, also a well known housing activist (but not an AbM member) who was killed in the same area on the 15th of March this year. There are also strong similarities to the attack on our movement in Kennedy Road in 2009.

A trio of speakers this time, two of whom have been regular contributors to the show. We listen in on a conference that happened in California in 2011 entitled Earth At Risk. While they outline contrasting approaches to resistance, the speakers are united in their conviction that the culture of capitalist golobalisation has no mechanism for self-regulation and so Direct Action is necessary to stop its ongoing ecocide.
The first Leeds Dignity for Asylum Seekers protest was fantastic! It was part of a national day of action, which saw protests in Bristol, Sheffield, Bradford, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff. There was a great atmosphere with special thanks to our friends from Bassa Bassa for all those fantastic tunes. It was great to see so many faces and let's continue to build on this.
