Our car based transport system is a major cause of the greenhouse gases which cause climate chaos. In 2001, cars released 20.77m tonnes of carbon, 13% of the total UK emissions. Motor Shows promoting new cars are part of the problem.

The UK economy has become dependent on the motor industry. But our car-based economy is being used as an excuse to state sponsor new roads and finance the building of a massive new oil pipeline in Turkey.
