Irish animal protection groups are shocked to learn from FOI reports that the National Parks & Wildlife Service, following "discussions" with Arts & Heritage Minister Heather Humphreys, decided not to sanction two coursing clubs for clear breaches of license conditions that supposedly apply to the holding of all coursing events, and that she gave them the green light to continue coursing hares during the 2014/15 season, despite what the NPWS officials referred to as the “seriousness of the incidents at these meetings”.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank announced $1.1 billion in debt relief for Chad. The money comes through the IMF and World Bank's two major debt relief programs: the Heavily Indebted Poor Country Initiative (HIPC) and the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative (MDRI). Chad is the 36th country to receive HIPC relief and the first since 2012. Chad is the fourth-least developed country in the world. More than half its population lives in poverty.

Whilst some might view the disintegration of the EDL as a positive step for British politics, the wholesale departure of entire divisions to the steadfast white supremacist territory of the National Front (northern and southern sectors) should set alarm bells ringing for antifascists. Once the dodo of the British far right, the NF are increasing their grass roots recruitment.

The EDL is rapidly fading, but is, in many regions, being replaced up and down the UK by the openly nazi National Front. Headed by violent fascist thug and online racist troll Gaz "Pat Riot" Field, Thanet's EDL Division has already jumped ship and left the EDL and joined the National Front, warming to their white power message. Yorkshire's EDL division is going to follow suit.

On Saturday 25 April, over 50 people came together in Llangollen, Wales, on the centenary of the first Gallipoli landings to celebrate the very long life of Elisabeth (Lib) Rowlands-Hughes, born at the end of WWI into a family missing most of its young men.
Lib firmly believed that the lesson of WWI, a war which claimed the lives of four of her uncles, should be NEVER AGAIN. As an early member of the Peace Pledge Union, Lib made the following vow:
I renounce war, and am therefore determined not to support any kind of war. I am also determined to work for the removal of all causes of war
and this is what she did for the rest of her life.
