Osama bin Aqua Teen Hunger Force

03-02-2007 00:37

In short, Americans are easily frightened by crass manifestations of the tawdry and shallow consumer society they passively accept, even celebrate, usually with dangerous levels of credit card debt. Fear and mistrust are now endemic, thanks to nearly six years of incessant propaganda concerning universal terrorists, Muslim evil-doers, liquid bombs, homegrown fanatics, even dire warnings of pregnant suicide bombers lurking on the local bus or train.

02-02-2007 23:59

A political bombshell from Zbigniew Brzezinski

Ex-national security adviser warns that Bush is seeking a pretext to attack Iran

Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday, Zbigniew Brzezinski, the national security adviser in the Carter administration, delivered a scathing critique of the war in Iraq and warned that the Bush administration’s policy was leading inevitably to a war with Iran, with incalculable consequences for US imperialism in the Middle East and internationally.

Iraq: Who did the US military massacre near Najaf?

02-02-2007 21:22

Massacre near Najaf
Whether the slaughter outside Najaf was inflicted on a cult, anti-government tribesmen or a combination of both, it demonstrates that the illegal American presence in Iraq can only be continued by repression and indiscriminate killing in every part of the country. The scale of the massacre is a warning of what is being prepared as US operations are stepped up in Baghdad under Bush’s planned “surge”.

“Milk is Murder” in red paint stunt

02-02-2007 18:06

Today animal rights protesters covered dairy products and beef with red paint in the ASDA supermarket in Cambridge. The action was in designed to highlight the link between live exports and the milk industry. According to a spokesperson for campaigners “when consumers buy milk products they are supporting the inhumane export of young male calves from the milk industry to other European countries, the animals, if they get there alive may be subject to conditions so inhumane they are illegal in the UK” . According to the protesters, they are exported in order to be raised in veal crates for their 'meat'. "This trade causes suffering and distress to both the baby calves and the mother cows, who have their babies taken at a few days old."

Iran Clock Ticking

02-02-2007 17:04

"Another source with a pipeline into Israeli thinking said the Iran war plan has expanded over the past several weeks. Earlier thinking had been that Israeli warplanes would hit Iranian nuclear targets with U.S. forces in reserve in case of Iranian retaliation, but now the strategy anticipates a major U.S. military follow-up to an Israeli attack, the source said.

Both sources used the same word "crazy" in describing the plan to expand the war to Iran. The two sources, like others I have interviewed, said that attacking Iran could touch off a regional - and possibly global - conflagration."
