Czech Republic: Squatters' protest in the town of Most

On Sunday 2nd of August 2009, an occupation of empty building in Most (northern czech town) took place: "By this direct action, we want to protest against a violent eviction and destruction of the Milada squat, which happened a month ago, when a security agency protected by police destroyed the space. False opposition to animal liberation

As much as radically critical political theory - or should I say anti-political - is seen as thoughtcrime by the state, I am increasingly notice this to be true of the radical political/anarchist scenes. It seems there are so many dogmas and liberal expectations to be aspired to that these mileues are just as coercive and authoritarian as conventional political. Veganism, or at least vegetarianism seems to be one of these, and as a meat eater I regularly come up against those preaching consumption politics.

Camp Ashraf solidarity hunger strikers on day 11 outside US embassy, London

Around ten Iranian exiles have been on hunger strike outside the US embassy in London for the past eleven days in protest at alleged brutality by Iraqi forces against Iranian refugees in Camp Ashraf, Iraq, at least twelve of whom have been killed, 500 injured and 26 taken hostage according to the protesters.

There will be a rally outside the US embassy in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair on Saturday, 8 August, from 7pm.
