Research conducted from the mid 90s to 2005
by a team from the University of East Anglia
shows that the North Atlantic Ocean is only
absorbing half of the CO2 that it used to.(1)

Another research project from the same University
published in May, 2007 found that the southern
oceans are no longer absorbing CO2 from the
atmosphere. But to make things worse, they

23-10-2007 16:15

On October 17, the web site of Britain’s Socialist Workers Party published the first detailed depiction of what was then only a proposed management offer to settle the ongoing post dispute. Demand release of Aotearoa/NZ Political Prisoners

23-10-2007 15:52

17 political activists in Aotearoa/New Zealand are being held in jail and threatened with charges of terrorism. What they have in common is supporting tino rangatiratanga, Maori claims to self-determination. These arrests are political (new tougher terrorism laws are coming up for debate in parliament) and aimed at creating a climate of fear. Therefore we see these arrests as state terrorism and demand the immediate release of the prisoners. This event is in support of a global day of action called by supporters of the prisoners.

Crossrail - Brown and Livingstone scheme to help rich rip off the poor

23-10-2007 14:23

Crossrail is a great example of public scheme using taxpayers money for the purposes of funding enterpise that benefits the private sector. Crossrail will be siphoning off £16-25 billion of taxpayers money. The City and big business have opted to pay the smallest share despite benefitting from having a brand new line dedicated to fat City boys and property price rises in Canary Wharf and the City as a direct result of Crossrail. Why are UK taxpayers and London communities paying? Because Ken Livingstone and Gordon Brown are afraid of the fat City men Digby Jones and Michael Snyder.

The Midas-Excess and Pleonexia

23-10-2007 14:14

The Midas-excess, the more-addiction or pleonexia is similar to the grand delusion of self-righteousness. Our narcissist culture, the dance around the golden ego, must be fought on all fronts. The vulgar materialist (cf. Ernst Bloch) thinks the world is only material and dismisses everything inward, spiritual and divine, whatever cannot fit in one's pocket, as irrelevant.

Preston Council Forced Into Barrage Retreat By Ribble Bloggers

23-10-2007 10:56

The Save The Ribble Blog has been pointing out the environmental and social idiocy of Preston City Councils plans to barrage the River Ribble and build thousands of houses in it's floodplain.
