"I never used to feel strongly about this, but 100,000 Scots have just had their votes stolen by being misinterpreted as 'spoiled ballots' while voting against BlaIraq. No fucking way is that true. Maybe four of five thousand deliberate spoils, but I'm also guessing the 100,000 figure is being rounded down by that amount."

Summary of today's police raids in Germany

Flora raid in Hamburg
According to mainstream media, over 800 policemen were involved in raiding 40 left-wing political objects with the support of 20 public prosecutors.

Whilst German television channels reported live from the razzias in the big cities, according to the populist press farms in Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg and Niedersachsen were also affected.

Several reasons were given so far for the raids, which nevertheless seemed to centre on and affect mainly infrastructure and logistics around the protests against the G8 summit.

Amongst them a social centre in Hamburg, which will open in three weeks as the first convergence centre in Germany.

Several project and flats in hamburg and berlin are being raided at the moment.
In hamburg 4 flats, one office and the the Rote Flora, where the Convergence Center begins in 3 weeks are being raided.
In Berlin it is the Mehringhof, mad, bethanien project (libertad office and Glocal anti g8 office) , fusion, kanalb (radio and media project), so36.net (tech collective and alternative internet hoster) ect ect ect.

Six men were charged with planning to kill as many soldiers as they could,” the Associated Press would have us believe. “One of the suspects, Serdar Tatar, had delivered pizza on the base and said he knew it like the back of his hand,” according to the government, never mind the “post has had especially tight security since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.”

Newcastle Refugees Join Yarls Wood Hunger Strike - Solidarity Protest Newcastle

Families from Newcastle are on hunger strike today as they await deportation in Yarls Wood Immigration Detention Centre. 200 women who began a protest last Thursday against new punitive measures – including confiscation of mobile phones and lock-in from 7pm-7am – were joined on Tuesday by another 100 families, including members of Tyneside Community Action for Refugees.
