Labour Party Office Occupied Now!

A group of concerned people from around Nottinghamshire have occupied the Labour party’s regional office in Attenborough, Beeston today to urge their local MP’s to act on inhumane policies towards asylum seekers that leave many destitute. At the moment nearly 900 refugees in Nottinghamshire alone live in destitution. Most experience hunger, cannot afford to buy clothes or shoes and many are not able to maintain good health.

Over 80 anti-war activists pulled an April fools day hoax outside the offices of British company, Windrush Communications Ltd today. The protestors dressed as pirates for an April Fools Day Pro-Privatisation Party. The aim of which was to highlight the role of Windrush in promoting the illegal plunder of Iraq’s assets.

Corporate Pirates Enjoy April Fool's Pro-Pillage Party

This morning around eighty crazily-dressed corporate pirates turned up at the offices of Windrush International to celebrate a `pro-pillage party.' They were celebrating Windrush's part in the corporate rush to exploit the wealth of occupied Iraq. Pirates came equipped with skull and cross bones, eye patches and treasure chests.

The Independent Media Centre Network has gone from strength to strength over the past 5 years in a bid to provide an alternative media outlet. But now, as IMC UK heads towards its own 5th birthday, a crisis is looming...

So, in order to to survive, IMC UK has decided that "if you can't beat 'em - join 'em." The current crisis is, of course, fiscal - threatening not only our ability to provide any kind of media service during the G8 protests, but may also mean we have to make cutbacks and axe participants from the project. This we would hate to do. Consequently, we are negotiating premium contracts with Ronald McDonald and Starbucks (for pop-ups, banners and promotional videos) to provide targeted marketing opportunities into a new sector. We hope that this will sustain IMC UK for the foreseeable future.
