Old poacher is Bush's new gamekeeper.

Whilst Blair and chums keep up the pretense that we're a caring sharing society, Bush and the neo-cons simply don't give a damn. They just do what they want.
A couple of weeks ago Bush appointed John Bolton as US ambassador to the United Nations. Anything wrong with that?
Well here's Bolton on the UN (1994 Global Structures Convocation, New York, NY.):
“There is no such thing as the United Nations. There is an international community that occasionally can be led by the only real power left in the world and that is the United States when it suits our interest and we can get others to go along.''
Then he sends Wolfowitz to the World Bank.
Wolfowitz is widely regarded as the architect not only of the invasion of Iraq, but of the very idea of invading Iraq. Whereas the remit of the World Bank is to help the reconstruction of poor countries, under his leadership "investment" will come only if repression strings are attached.
And because good things always come in threes, the new Acting Director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service is Matthew J. Hogan.
Never heard of him?
Hogan was formerly the chief lobbyist for Safari Club International (SCI), an extreme trophy hunting organisation that advocates the killing of rare species around the world.
SCI members shoot prescribed lists of animals to win so-called Grand Slam and Inner Circle titles. There's the Africa Big Five (leopard, elephant, lion, rhino, and buffalo), the North American Twenty Nine (all species of bear, bison, sheep, moose, caribou, and deer), Big Cats of the World, Antlered Game of the Americas, and many other contests.
Humane Society of the USA President Wayne Pacelle* felt impelled to comment: "Having a Safari Club lobbyist in charge, even temporarily, of the federal agency that is supposed to protect endangered species is precisely the wrong course to pursue for any Administration".
Wise words,Wayne!
