Hull: Hundreds protest against racist attacks

Around 300 asylum seekers - mostly Iraqi Kurds - gathered at Pearson Park in Hull this week to demand a stronger response from Humberside police to the racist attacks they are suffering.

Oxford lady in court over taxes for Iraq war

Brenda Boughton, an elderly retired teacher, will attend Oxford County Court
on Tuesday 5 August over her refusal to pay taxes that contribute to the war
in Iraq. She has paid the military part of her taxes to an aid agency for
war and famine relief.

Canoe Club trains Asylum Welcome Boys

A coach instructs the boys
Falcon Rowing and Canoeing club took the initiative and obtained funding to give canoeing lessons to boys from Aslyum Welcome. The boys, between 14 and 16 years old, are refugees and asylum seekers. Some are unaccommpanied without their parents. Their response to this initiative was fantastic to watch. More are needed.
