Sometimes the United States and its allies are wrong, and the rest of the world is right.
The opponents of war in Iraq — France, Germany, Russia, China, Canada, Mexico, the Arab nations and the many others — were vindicated last week when Baghdad fell just 21 days after the U.S.-led invasion began. The anti-war argument had always been that Saddam Hussein posed no significant threat to the U.S. or its neighbours because Iraq's military power was vastly degraded after Saddam's humiliation in the 1991 Persian Gulf War and the subsequent dozen years of punitive United Nations-imposed sanctions.

US accused of plans to loot Iraqi antiques

FEARS that Iraq's heritage will face widespread looting at the end of the Gulf war have been heightened after a group of wealthy art dealers secured a high-level meeting with the US administration.
It has emerged that a coalition of antiquities collectors and arts lawyers, calling itself the American Council for Cultural Policy (ACCP), met with US defence and state department officials prior to the start of military action to offer its assistance in preserving the country's invaluable archaeological collections.

Essentially leveraged bets that American’s stocks were about to “crash”, the day’s trading volume was 600% higher than the usual level of trading in AA shares.

Approximately 800-1000 people braved the long journeys, temperamental Irish weather and persistent global propaganda to join together and call once again for the immediate withdrawal of us military aircraft and personal using Shannon wirport for stopover and refuelling and of course an end to the barbaric war in Iraq. The good-natured crowd marched and sang their way from the car park in the town centre, to outside the heavily barricaded warport where a number of speeches were made. They later broke up and made their war peacefully home
