Emancipation, Anti-Fascism & Animal Liberation

After a recent article, (seemingly now either hidden or deleted from the Newswire), which quite rightly provoked a debate about racism, fascism and other forms of arbitrary discrimination in the Animal Rights movement.

However, the original article appeared to have been pubished by a troll attempting to discredit the AR movement, (hence why it is no longer on the Newswire), so I thought it appropriate to reopen the debate by providing a proper incite into fascism and the AR movement, as well as introducing the "Animal Liberation Hallmarks" project which was created in attempt to resist fascist infiltration of our movement and to allow groups to make a clear statement about their emancipatory status:--

Didcot protest over - 20 arrested

At 4.30 am, the nine occupiers of the chimney stack at Didcot power station came down and were immediately arrested. That brings the total arrests to 20, after the 11 locked on to the coal conveyors were arrested in the first 24 hours.

York Students Disrupt BAE Recruitment

A group of nearly 20 students took part in a non-violent intervention against the arms company BAE at today's University-wide careers fair, by staging a die in and handing out leaflets to passers by. The group, members of University of York's DISARM campaign, used the action to highlight BAE's impending trial for corruption.

Russian circus bear kills manager

An ice-skating bear with a touring Russian circus has killed a circus manager and seriously injured a trainer in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.

Kyrgyz officials said the bear turned on the manager, 25-year-old Dmitry Potapov, during a rehearsal.
