Craig Murray: Formal Evidence Session on UK Complicity in Torture

On Tuesday 28th April 1:45pm, former British Ambassador Craig Murray will give evidence to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights regarding British complicity with recent torture around the world. Craig Murray will argue that it is not the security service operatives, but the Ministers who set the policy – and specifically Jack Straw – who should be facing criminal charges.

This is what occurred: Reliance security company responded to an alarm that went off inside the building. The police were then called. The first copper on scene was prepared to depart saying that 'they have squatters rights and it is a civil matter', and then Reliance called the police again and 3 riot vans and 5 police cars turned up.

BAE systems blockaded for Role in Gaza Siege

This morning activists from Break the Siege! blockaded BAE systems factory in Middleton, Manchester. Using motorbike chains and D-locks they obstructed the plant by sealing off several entrance points. A banner was also hung which read: ‘BAE profits from the siege on Gaza’. This direct action was a response to a call for a day of action by the No Borders network.
