Bring out your Dead!

03-09-2008 15:06

you would be an old & senile lady scared to go out if you had lived .
Everyone on the left understands the significance of the 2nd Spanish Republic. All too often we look at how she fell a victim of a fascist coup d'etat and the ensuing prelude to the 2nd world war. We remember the first blanket & dive bombings more clearly than we remember the achievements of a revolutionary period whose birth and death passed before we were born.

Obama v. O`Reilly - the right's presidential "debate" Thurs night.

03-09-2008 12:25

Obama & Mc Cain will debate several times for live TV audiences before the election like all presidential candidates since Kennedy beat Nixon. But there was no FOXnews for Nixon's first attempt and not even O'Reilly had been recognised as the loudest & most verbally abusive and perversely popular and astoundingly influential spokesman of American rightwing christians, militarists & "voters".

This Thursday at 8pm Eastern Time Obama goes head to head with O'Reilly on the channel which has consistently smeared him since February 2007. As a lesson in contemporary media and the exercise of extra-constitutional power as well as finely pitched scientific methodology of mass indoctrination - it will be worth watching.
