Contempt of Court

06-02-2007 16:27

All inquests into UK deaths in Iraq are held in Oxford. Most of them have been delayed for unreasonable amounts of time. Many of them have called for US service personnel to be witnesses, but the US has always refused this. Now the coroner who demanded that video footage of one 'friendly fire' incident has been sacked.

Balibo Murderer Implicates Indonesian Government

06-02-2007 14:48

Yunus Yosfiah, former Indonesian government minister and commander of Kopassus, the elite government sanctioned hit squad functioning as part of the Indonesian military, has been formally identified by an eyewitness as the person who initiated the cold-blooded murder of five Australian journalists in East Timor in 1975. Not mentioned in recent reports is the exact order Yosfiah issued to his troops. Indonesian troops were extremely reluctant to fire on five unarmed Australian non-combatants, who had openly surrendered. [Then] Captain Yunus Yosfiah, issued the murderous order, “don’t think, just shoot”, before he commenced firing on the unarmed Australian journalists!

asylum aid groups ignored a legal item that could have saved Abdullah Tokhi

06-02-2007 12:19

All the big national asylum aid groups, throughout the whole asylum hate era, have been cynically and without explanation ignoring a legal item, whose cover-up they could end, that is a massive advance in democracy and would help every asylum seeker. The Independent's story now proves lives have been cost by this.

Why the Surge will push us into a War with Iran

06-02-2007 12:14

No one has done more to expand Iran's power in the region than George Bush. Was that what Bush intended?. Or is it merely an unintended consequence of a deeply flawed policy that is destabilizing the region and damaging American interests?. Congress is duty bound to avoid this tragedy.

‘Quartet’ Corners PLO, Hamas into Critical Options

06-02-2007 11:27

By Nicola Nasser* -- In Washington on February 2, the Middle East Quartet of peace mediators promised the Palestinian people more of the same devastating status quo, perpetuating their 40-year old Israeli occupation, prolonging the international siege imposed on them, exacerbating their internal divide, and thus cornering them into a situation that they can only shake off either through civil war or unconditional surrender to the U.S.-backed Israeli-dictated fait accompli.

BBC a another low in it's biased reporting. Tens of thousands dead in Iraq ????

06-02-2007 10:49

In an article regarding the Republicans blocking a motion to debate the war in Iraq the BBC comes up with this worthy piece of news. "Since the US-led invasion in 2003, more than 3,000 US troops and tens of thousands of Iraqis have been killed". This is very much in line with their reporting of the anti war demo's before the terrible war on Iraq. This routine distortion of blatant facts is what the corporate media is all about.

The Bush administration’s campaign of lies and misinformation against Iran

06-02-2007 10:36

As it prepares for military aggression against Iran, the Bush administration is once again resorting to a concoction of lies, misinformation and half-truths to provide the pretext. In his January 10 speech announcing an escalation of the war in Iraq, President Bush denounced Syria and Iran for backing anti-US insurgents and declared the American military would “seek out and destroy” these networks. He has since confirmed ordering US troops to “capture or kill” Iranian agents in Iraq.
