30-10-2007 17:15

What adds intrigue to an understanding of the missing nukes, are the international events and war games taking place just after the “lost” nuclear weapons incident, not to mention the President’s ongoing threats to attack Iran with nuclear weapons and Vice President Cheney's repeated warnings that a second large scale terrorist attack on America is under preparation, with the support of Iran.

The Cry of the Subject: Franz Hinkelammert

30-10-2007 13:56

The Sabbath exists for people. The "fatal law" is a synonym for "the world." According to Hinkelammert, obedience to the law is "sin." Those who wanted to stone the woman - the law abiding - committed sin. Abraham was commanded to decide against God's will and for the life of his child.

Where are Mr & Mrs Rajavi?

30-10-2007 12:05

Mr & Mrs Rajavi were a voice of reason in the MIddle East, as leaders of the Iranian Liberation Front, they stood in direct opposition to the fundamentalist regime now established in Iran. The Rajavi's promoted a kinder and more intelligent concept of Islam - a concept based on a deeper and more conscise interpretation of the Koran, one that gave women equal rights whilst simulataneously promoting Socialism. Being forced into exile, the ILF were grouped on the Iran/Iraq border, but since the invasion of Iraq, there's been no news of them whatsoever. The last I heard of Mrs Rajavi was that she was under house arrest in France being threatened with deportation - Mr Rajavi at that time (2002) was missing presumed dead.

The truth about Scotland, the UK and the £500m bribe for Crossrail

30-10-2007 12:00

Why are politicians and the media really upset about Scotland? Because they have the balls to give their citizens what any first rate country citizen should expect - free school meals, free prescriptions, no tuitition fees. England with the help of the corporate media has removed such essentials and worse still liars in the corporate press with help from corrupt academics Travers are misleading the public. They often refer to what London pays in relation to Scotland. But who pays what? It is not big business or the City and Canary Wharf whose interests and whims they represent. Ordinary Londoners pay taxes like the Scots with the North Sea. Most Scottish MPs had expressed an interest in voting against the £16-30 billion rail scheme Crossrail, which is being foisted on Londoners who are expected to pay two thirds for a line that will benefit the affluent City and Canary Wharf. Why? Because it is a bad scheme that makes money for private interests and developers and harms large parts of London.

Andrew Gilligan, Tony Travers & The Evening Standard - Anti-realLondoners

30-10-2007 11:51

No credible person in London views the Evening Standard as a London paper, it is read by commuters and it represents their views not those of real Londoners. Its commentators such as the flawed academic Tony Travers who has more in common with Councillor Keith who has been ousted from the corrupt Tower Hamlets on two occasions is its chief commentator. Now Mr Travers has become the opinion former for Andrew Gilligan, a man ostensibly concerned with corruption - try starting with Mr Travers...

The Problem With...Homogeneity

30-10-2007 09:56

“Come and see our overflowing morgues"

30-10-2007 09:07

But Bush will not withdraw and apparently no one can force him to do so. So, the killing will continue unabated behind the media’s iron curtain while the overall situation on the ground continues to deteriorate. Eventually, after years of ethnic cleansing, sectarian fighting and stepped-up military operations; the position of the US will become untenable and the troops will come home. But the cost in human terms will be enormous. Already one million Iraqis have been killed in the war and 4 million others have become refugees. Credit the US media for concealing the real savagery of foreign occupation and its effects on Iraqi society. The country is in ruins.
