The Hannah Baldock report in the Independent on the Venezuelan recall referendum, which stated that "The mid-morning results showed that the opposition, already boasting an enormous 1,758,000 votes to Chavez's 798,000, is well on its way to reaching the target of 3.76 million votes it needs to oust the authoritarian, left-wing President.", seems to have disappeared from the independent's web site. So here's a google backup for history's sake.

Liverpool City Council (Lib-Dem controlled) has been softening up tenants for Stock Transfer, already the glossy leaflets have been delivered, firstly those glossy full colour leaflets that went out a few months ago said that an ALMO (Arms Length Management Organisation, which is one step privatisation) isn't possible, they've also said a PFI (Private Finance Initiative) isn't possible either, thus leaving tenants with the fait-accompli Lib-Dem decision of Stock Transfer or nothing.

Article from the Venezuelan corporate newspaper "El Nacional", affirming that the official electoral observers have ruled the referendum on the mandate of President Hugo Chavez fair. The opposition is still calling the election "fraud" at the time of writing however, and claim to have evidence of this. Both observer groups showed their willingness to work with the opposition "if there are precise complaints".
