Rose Abukha Update: Further action needed to halt her deportation

Rose Abukha has been told she will be deported to Uganda tonight at 10pm on British Airways flight BA0063. However, as far we know she has still not been given official removal papers, which may mean the deportation is illegal.

Space Is The Place @ rampART Friday

Things kick off on the evening of Friday 11th with a social meet up and info night at the rampART social centre on Friday evening - a chance to chat about events and actions over the weekend and tell people about the autonomous spaces you are involved in.

New squatted space openned in London

The squatted warehouse
Over the last three weeks people have been preparing an abandoned warehouse in Shoreditch to host events over the weekend of the days of action for squats and autonomous spaces. This week, artists have been transforming the place for an exhibition themed around land use, gentrification, housing and reclaiming space. The building opens on Saturday at 10am with a program of films, discussion and skill sharing till 7pm and again on Sunday. The space will also be hosting a freeshop and squatters estate agency.

Two Hunger strikers now in hospital

Two of the three sacked airport workers on hunger-strike outside their union offices in Belfast are now in hospital. Earlier today Gordon McNeill was rushed to hospital only to be released, Gordon and 72 year old diabetic Madan Gupta are now both in hospital.

Two indigenous radio announcers killed and four injured in ambush in Oaxaca

Two announcers of the radio station ´´La Voz que Rompe el Silencio`` (the Voice that Breaks the Silence) were assasinated on April 7th whilst travelling by car to the west of the city of Oaxaca according to the civil society organisation Centro de Apoyo Comunitario Trabajando Unidos (CACTUS - Centre for Community Support Working in Unity).

N.S.W. Government Medical Officer of HealthQuest Terminated

HealthQuest is the N.S.W. Government Medical Office which has been for years accused of serious human rights violations. Activists believe doctors at HealthQuest have 'certified insane' many public service whistleblowers in order to sack them for allegedly being unable to carry out their duties. The most notorious of the HealthQuest doctors was an English G.P., Dr Helia Gapper, who was forced to resign in the late 1990s after negative publicity. It is not known whether she has returned to England and is practising under another name.
