Pavilion, a RSL, is trying to kick out its tenants from Firgrove Court, a small of estate of 28 maisonettes in Farnborough town centre, to enable the estate to be demolished for a car park for a superstore, part of an unwanted town centre redevelopment. Pavilion claim they are making no money on this disposal! Why go through all the hassle, why is the issue extremely sensitive?

Call for Global Day of Action in support of the Paestinian Prison Hunger striker

The situation of the 8000 Palestinian Hunger strikers is becoming extremally serious. In some prisons people are being refused water for three days as water was removed by the army. Today the Red Cross was able to visit some prisoners and despite many of them being ill after three days without water they have promised to continue.
The hunger strikers are protesting agianst the inhumane prison conditions which they face.

Ewa's appeal hearing in the supreme court will now take place on Wednesday, by which time Ewa will have spent 3 weeks imprisoned be "the only democracy in the Middle East."

Canterbury BT Okupada facing eviction 27th August

Canterbury British Telecom Building occupants finally at the wire after about a month tomorrow. Eviction notice passed by judge this morning due to no-one coming up with a valid reason to be trespassing. This despite current occupants cleaning up mess of previous occupiers and banning herion users. On the bright side, perhaps due to the improved state of building, no charges for damages followed up.
