"Raspail Appeal" - English translation - Paris student protests

FRENCH ANTI - CPE PROTESTS: Last week, the Sorbonne Students joined the EHESS (School of Higher Social Science Studies Paris), students on Monday 20th to occupy their school and were evicted on Friday 24th. Before being evicted, they issued a "Raspail Appeal" (see bellow) calling for a wider opposition to capitalism and industrialism. The evicted student protesters have now joined the Tolbiac students for the occupation of this University.

Although this text is several days old, it has only now been translated into English and is a concise critique of the CPE protests.

They were joined in this protest by London Noborders and Rhythms of Resistance samba band.

Poland: Queer club occupied and under siege

Warsaw City Council, run by the ruling party PiS (Law and Justice Party), has ordered the closure of 'Le Madame', a popular gay club and counter-cultural/political hub. The place has been occupied, and surrounded by cops. Apparently, there's a 48 hour period of grace, which expires on Thursday.

EU strengthens Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara

The EU is planning on stregthen the 30 year old Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara with a fishing treaty which gives the Moroccans and the EU rights to natural resources that belong to the Saharawi people. As always, money goes before international law.
