Becouse of the international Studentsprotest there is the first official international education strike network-meeting at th Humbold University Berlin from the 15.th unitil the 17.th of January 2010. In europe now there are more than 280 universities occupied and the students have claims to those respnsible wich are a must for a sensible education. Worldwide more then 580 universities are participating with the protestactivities

Jamal Juma, Human Right's defender and coordinator of "Stop the Wall" campaign in Palestine, campaigner for the democratisation of communication and organiser of the future world education forum, was arrested onthe 16th of December without explanation and held in Israel. Appeals go out for support and pressure for his liberation and the right to trial in his home Palestine.

Shelter this Christmas have launched a 'bling my home' campaign. Running a homeless campaign around the shameless show of excessive consumerism seems extremely inappropriate. Have they totaly lost the plot, have they become part of the problem not the solution?

Zippos Circus Protest – Charges Dropped!

Charges dropped against protesters arising from a demo at Zippos Circus on 22nd October 2009 in Cambridge.

Some facts about Zippos:

-Zippos employed a man who defended infamous abuse at Chipperfield's circus in court. After watching footage of the thrashing and kicking of a baby chimpanzee he was asked “See anything which would constitute cruelty?” he replied unequivocally “No". Asked if he would do the same he said “Yes”!

-Zippos Circus have been exposed by Animal Defenders International, for keeping their horses in trailers without exercise for hours on end.

-'The way that young girl brandished the whip was obviously scary to the horses' 'When the man raised his hand the budgies flinched. Every time!' - Audience Member, 2009 Performance.

New Caledonia: only wise policy would lead to independence.

This large Pacific island was discovered by James Cook in 1774, and named Caledonia, the ancient name of Scotland, Cook's homeland. Favorable island climatic conditions and fertile soil had attracted the interest of European colonizers - traders, planters and missionaries. In 1853 France announced the island its colony. Then within 30 years the French government had deported many convicted criminals to New Caledonia.
