16-02-2007 12:49

On Saturday, February 10, six residents of the C.J. Peete Public Housing Complex reclaimed their apartments against the will of the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO). In a scene more fitting for a block party than a protest, tenants danced, laughed and chatted with their old neighbors, while children played and sang. Residents sang “I don’t know what you been told, but these projects are livable!”and boogied on their ballon and ribbon decorated porch to the Hot 8 brass band.

Olympics and Crossrail - two mega wasters of London people's money

15-02-2007 09:13

Today’s ‘London Olympics 2012’ stunt being staged at Ken Livingstone’s Cxxx Hall on the south bank of the Thames opposite the Tower of London, is not going to allay fears that like the CRASSrail hole project, the Olympics project is another over-hyped ply to benefit big business.

The news about London's chief self-promoter Livingstone's 'deputy', Nicky Gavron, running up huge bills in transporting herself in truly offensively indolent, indulgent style, just confirms how corrupt the entire lot at the Cxxx all is and why the community ourselves have to do what we can to stop these abusers taking the people of London for granted

Gallo does Bush inpersonation in court

15-02-2007 04:30

I just got finished reading Bob Gallo's testimony in the Parenzee
case. For all the good his testimony will do, the prosecution might
as well have called George W. Bush to the stand. I get the feeling
that Gallo unwittingly associated himself with Bush in the eyes of
the court.

Long live the struggle of the proletarians and masses of Guinea!

13-02-2007 14:55

Guinea-Conakry is a small West African country of 10 million inhabitants, one of the poorest countries on the planet, in spite of the richness of its mining industry: diamonds, gold, iron, uranium and especially bauxite of which it is the 2nd largest producer in the world. Although the majority of the population of Guinea lives in misery, local and foreign bourgeois and the multinationals grow rich, protected by the regime of General Lansana Conté (who seized power after a coup in 1984) against rising dissatisfaction.
