11-01-2009 09:35Today I participated in ANSWER's march and rally, "Let Gaza Live" in Washington, D.C. Attendance was excellent despite the weather. Among the many friends in attendance, I met a young man and his daughter who had come all the way from Greensboro, North Carolina to participate. The crowd was one of the most diverse that I have ever seen. I think our message is reaching deep into our country's heartland. Here are my remarks:

Mounting evidence is emerging that Israel is experimenting new non-conventional weapons on civilian population in Gaza . "It is happening again what we saw in Lebanon two years ago", says Paola Manduca , genetics teacher and researcher at the University of Genoa and member of New Weapons Research Committee (NWRC), "where Israel used white phosphorus, Dense inert metal explosive (DIME), thermobaric bombs, cluster bombs and uranium ammunitions and experimented novel weapons and delivery modalities. Still today there are unexploded bombs and radioactivity on the ground".

10-01-2009 20:56As Israel threatens to 'intensify' its ground offensive in Gaza, and with the death toll amongst Palestinians exceeding 800, hundreds of Manchester residents again took part in protests this weekend.
10-01-2009 20:49The Israeli newspaper Haaretz is reporting that the U.S. has arranged for a charter ship "to carry 325 standard 20-foot containers of what is listed as 'ammunition' on two separate journeys from the Greek port of Astakos to the Israeli port of Ashdod in mid-to-late January." The type and nature of the shipment is described as "pretty rare."

09-01-2009 15:23Gaza Solidarity vigil - 10th January - 10am - The Moor
09-01-2009 12:13A group of Islington residents and supporters of Yibna will hold a vigil in front of the house of David Miliband in Primrose Hill. They will protest against the appeasement by Foreign Secretary Miliband of the 2 week long Israeli blitz of Gaza.
09-01-2009 09:42Israel’s claims of self-defense are clearly refuted by the disproportionate consequences of its aggression. With the death toll rising to 599, including 133 children, 33 women, and 6 medics, Israel can no longer hide the fact that its actions are tantamount to genocide, as Richard Falk, the United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian Territories, has pointed out.
