Aussie Torture Victim pleads ‘Guilty’

27-03-2007 12:57

In circumstances that could only be described as ‘railroading’ and coercive, the Aussie battler, David Hicks has pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to terrorists. Few Australians, including leading legal advocates accept the ‘trial’ of Hicks as legally legitimate. The flagrantly rogue court convened under the most biased and unfair conditions also disqualified Hicks’ civilian lawyers at the last minute. Hicks’ (now) disqualified lawyers accused the presiding judge, Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Coleman of making up the rules as he went along – there is nothing new in the ‘legal’ proceedings at Guantanamo Bay!

UN Security Or United Rape?

27-03-2007 12:04

As I watched Iran being hauled in front of the United Nations ‘Security’ Council, a vivid picture conjured up in my mind – my native country Iran, a vulnerable and defenseless beauty being prepared for violation by brutal savages. As she struggles to defend her honor, no one is prepared to come to her aid, save a few. Even her own children, those raised on her soil hope she will be brutally violated. With lust-filled eyes, they hope to fulfill their ambitions on her ravaged ruins, her broken pride.

Russian Intelligence leaks date for massive US attack on Iran? 6th April.

27-03-2007 03:38

Operation Bite, it's going to be called. I always wonder how they live with these names - operation hammer, operation explosion - but apparently the logical dislocation from reality works just fine. Hundreds of Iranians are going to die and an entire population will be brought to its knees, in the dust, starving, as their country is dismembered. I don't know how far to trust this information but hopefully a Russian speaker can investigate further.

The Coming War With Iran

26-03-2007 16:49

Why are people not massing in the streets, as they were before the illegal invasion of Iraq? We know the plans are the same. is the Antiwar Movement in denial about what's been plotted, or deflated by the willingness of Fascists to ignore the Popular Will?

People must see the Opposition.

Gorleben fears it will become all of Europe's nuclear dump

26-03-2007 07:00

People who have fought for 30 years against nuclear waste dumping at the north German village of Gorleben now fear that the salt deposit there will become an international final repository. If the exploratory salt mine in Gorleben, now temporarily stopped over safety concerns, were to start operating as a repository, “it would be an international repository because of substitution treaties already in place”.

Exclusive to ukwatch.net an interview on the British media's coverage of the confrontation between Iran and the United States with David Edwards and David Cromwell, editors of Medialens

The noises being made by the British and american governments are eerily reminiscent of the build up to the Iraq invasion. How has the media responded to this propaganda re-run?

Multinational protest in Brussels against doubled nuclear spending

25-03-2007 09:10

The European Union will spend 2,751 million euros on nuclear activities in its research funding from this year until 2013 although at least two member countries, Germany and Sweden, have pledged to drop nuclear power production and another, Austria, has banned it.

The nuclear spending in the 7th research programme is double the 1,352 million euros in the previous research budget.

Protesters from Germany, The Netherlands and Russia heard at a demonstration in Brussels, the seat of the EU, that the billions would be better spent on climate protection, energy saving programmes and renewable energies.

Britain and the Shatt al-Arab

24-03-2007 22:31

I bought a newspaper tonight with a headline about the fifteen British sailors and marines seized by Irans revolutionary guard. The girl selling it to me pointed to the headline and said 'That's it, we are all going to get nuked'. I pointed out Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons and she responded 'Well, they are starting taking our sailors, we have to nuke them'. I pointed out the captives and their families probably wouldn't agree with her.
