Remember Democracy ? Err, Err, See the Fakes ? USA scam unravels!

16-05-2007 11:49

LATEST : resignations, sackings, jail, State Inquiries. . . .

AS WATERGATE WAS "A MINOR BURGLARY" (. . . . for a bit), this is a "THAR SHE BLOWS" moment for the Ohio computer election vote fraud - that swung the entire states into the dubious grips of the inept "Big Lie" ideology of a few of the "neo cons", acting as front puppets for ex-spooks, Minderbinder Warbux types, that were addicts to the dodgiest slushfunds, scams or fiddles of the cold war era . . . .

Dobson Hallucinates Iranian “Existential Threat”

16-05-2007 07:45

James Dobson, chairman of the board of Focus on the Family, told his radio audience. "Many people in a position to know are talking about the possibility of losing a city to nuclear or biological or chemical attack. And if we can lose one we can lose ten.”

I’m experiencing that old déjà vu feeling again. Iraq has nukes or biologicals. Saddam is Hitler. Saddam and al-Qaeda will unleash a fury against the United States. Kindergarten children and old ladies will suffer and die. We have to do something. We have to mass murder a whole lot of people. Turn the place into a glass parking lot.

Evil Empire: Is Imperial Liquidation Possible for America?

16-05-2007 00:53

In politics, as in medicine, a cure based on a false diagnosis is almost always worthless, often worsening the condition that is supposed to be healed. The United States, today, suffers from a plethora of public ills. Most of them can be traced to the militarism and imperialism that have led to the near-collapse of our Constitutional system of checks and balances. Unfortunately, none of the remedies proposed so far by American politicians or analysts addresses the root causes of the problem.

US government fans homeland terrorism fear

15-05-2007 20:41

The US government and Washington elites are aggressively ramping up their "war on terrorism" rhetoric and propaganda, stoking fear and paranoia in order to bolster its war agenda, and reinvigorate the mass public perception of new and growing "homegrown terrorism" threats to the US homeland.

The next phase of America’s war abroad (under the management of a post-Bush neocon/neoliberal consensus), and the deepening militarization of the US homeland towards a full police state, are well underway.

Global Military Alliance: Encircling Russia and China

11-05-2007 16:00

Although Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan are not formally members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), they are linked through military partnerships, affiliated government agreements, a network of partnerships, and bilateral military agreements with the United States and Britain.

The creation of a parallel NATO-like organization in the Far East and the Pacific Rim is part of the international brinkmanship of creating a unified global military alliance.

The Art of Remembering: An Open Letter to Secretary Rice

11-05-2007 11:55

The problem is when you have too much power you begin to think with your muscles. You are like a wounded bull in the china-shop that is Middle East. Whatever you touch, wherever you intervene, something is broken, something is ruined. Perhaps at some point you have to STOP and think of a way out without inflicting much more damage to yourself and those around you.

Until you learn to respect other peoples' right of self-determination and until you abandon your language of intervention, force and threats against my country, no number of visits to art galleries will solve our problems.

Nuclear Warhead Convoy Secretly Passes Through Chilwell, Nottingham

11-05-2007 09:21

Nuclear transport on the Edinburgh bypass

It has come to light that in the early hours of Thursday 10th May a convoy carrying nuclear warheads secretly passed through the Stapleford and Chilwell area of Nottingham. The vehicles were spotted driving into the Chetwynd Barracks in Chilwell at 6.30am for a rest stop. Heading for the Royal Naval Armament Depot (RNAD) in Coulport, Scotland, the convoy was spotted along the M1 and also the next day as it continued its route along the east coast and along the Edinburgh Bypass. According to a spokesperson for Nukewatch UK, who keep an eye on nuclear convoys around the UK, the route hasn't been used since the early 90's. She also mentioned that no convoys have been spotted entering the Chetwynd Barracks and it might be an indication of the convoys starting to use the Chetwynd Barracks for rest stops.

The convoy passed through dense populated areas in Stapleford and Chilwell before and after its rest stop at the army base on Chetwynd Road, Chilwell. According to campaigners each lorry weighs approx 44 tonnes and can carry up to 2 ready assembled nuclear warheads, which can contain up to 8 kg of plutonium and uranium each. Each of the modern warheads has the capacity of creating 8 times the impact of that of the bombs used in the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki by America in 1945. The convoy was spotted leaving Burfield Atomic Weapons Establishment, 50 miles North of London around 12.30am on Thhursday morning. At Burfield AWE the warheads and explosives get assembled into working nuclear weapons. There were people stationed along the route from Stirling to Coulport attempting to resist the convoy. Read report.

Presidential Candidate: Senator Reid was Right, War is Lost

10-05-2007 18:11

Reid is now opposing the Iraq War because the U.S. is losing; he initially supported the war and backed the invasion. The war is another imperial adventure by the U.S. and there is a growing divide, by those supporters of U.S. imperialism, that a continued war is weakening U.S. imperialism.

London Counter-Recruitment Picket, Friday May18th 1:30pm

10-05-2007 16:46

Next Friday - 18th April – at the Bloomsbury armed forces recruitment centre, people will be going armed with fliers to give a counter view of what life is like in the army. The Bloomsbury recruitment centre is located in the same building as the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO), the government's arms sales agency.

With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan raging the chances of being killed and injured have increased dramatically over the past few years. But even if ex-services personnel make it back alive many are still scared for life from their experiences.

We encourage everyone to help us hand out fliers and let people know what it's really like in the military!
