This is the second UK wide day of action No Borders UK have held in support of the many actions that happen outside UK Border Agency depots around the country regularly but go unreported in the mainstream media. This action is in support of the mothers at Yarl's Wood on hunger strike and to highlight the recent restructuring of the UK borders police. You can change your name but you cannot hide!

US "war on terrorism" trophy prisoner: Dr. Sami Al-Arian's ordeal continues

Since his acquittal in December 2005, Professor Sami Al-Arian has remained in prison. Following the trial, the government indicated its intention to retry him on the remaining charges, which is unprecedented given the jury's overwhelming rejection of the case.

Dr. Al-Arian is greatly weakened after 46 days without food, his situation is grave, prison authorities are hostile and dismissive, and the Department of Justice may be trying to kill him.

Five protesters demonstrated at the Total West Four petrol station on 137 Chiswick High Road on Wednesday 17th April. The protest was against the French Total Oil's support for the brutal Burma junta dictatorship. Burma's democracy leader, Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has said that “Total is the biggest supporter of the military regime in Burma. Total Oil gives 500 million dollars a year to the brutal Burmese dictatorship. Total's Yadana gas pipeline was built using forced labour.
