SHAC Morning Demo At AstraZeneca

Before today it had been ages since the last earlybird demo in London. Even with only 3 people, arriving at 8:00am at AstraZeneca to greet all the workers as they arrived. We simply picketted the building, handing out leaflets and holding placards. The staff of AZ don't often get a chance to get a leaflet because the security staff shuffle them out the back door at leaving time if there is a demonstration in progress.

Day of action for Burma in Chester

A rather damp and windswept stall
Wrexham Women for Peace and supporters held a stall for Burma in Chester city centre today, to encourage people to boycott TOTAL petrol stations, to call for the release of all political prisoners in Burma, and to support those affected by Cyclone Nargis. In the afternoon, there was a demo outside Hoole TOTAL petrol station.

Bastille Day Card - Support Liberty in Burma

On July 14th, three members of totaloutofburma.org celebrated Bastille Day at the Institute Francais in London, calling on "Liberty Equality and Fraternity" with the Burmese "liberty" movement and the heroic prisoners of conscience in Burma. A Bastille Day card with approximately 150 signatures was sent to President Nicolas Sarkozy care of the French Embassy in London, highlighting French Total Oil's continuing shameful collaboration with the brutal Burmese dictatorship and calling for liberty for Burma.

Myspace deleting profiles of animal rights groups

In the last few days many animal rights Myspace pages/accounts such as Speak Political, Love the Animals, Free the Caged, Atillas Battle and Animal Aid have been closed/cancelled without explanation. Interestingly, the SHAC and the SPEAK (groups usually in the firing line for repression) myspace pages have not been taken down.
