Anabelle James and her 1 year old son who were snatched from their home in Bury in a dawn raid on Sunday29 April 2007, are due to be deported back to Nigeria on Wednesday 2nd May 2007.

They are set to be sent on Virgin Airway flight VS 651 at 22:30 (10:30pm) to Lagos, from Heathrow (Terminal 3).

Denmark, Kopenhagen. On "Ground 69" [the place of the destroyed youth centre `Ungdomshuset´] people yesterday again began to built barricades. Later the whole Jagtvej was full with burning barricades.
Windows of banks, supermarkets, companies were smashed. surveillance cameras destroyed.

Estonia, Talinn: Riots- 1 dead, hundreds hurt, city devasted

Talinn looks like a city in war: shops, buildings are burning. Everywhere people are beaten by police.
Yesterday night thousands of people rioted because the governemnt brought to fall "the sovjet soldier" - a monument in the middle of the city that honoured the anti-fascist soldiers of the sovjet army who freed Talinn from the nazis in WW II.

Detention of Asylum Seekers and Immigrants in the UK

I am an asylum seeker who has experienced arbitrary detention in the UK for immigration purposes. I am also a national of a former British colony, where internment and detention were used to control the freedom movement of whole communities. I have strong criticisms of the use of internment and detention of a particular group of people as a form of control or punishment without any regard for justice.

The very well attended Mass got off to a good start, despite a spelling mistake on the kindly donated t-shirts. There was the usual large police presence with its usual intimidating videoing of riders. Pity they can't take their own medicine and try to conceal their faces.

25 of april, Lisboa, Portugal. 400 people participate in an illegal anti-fascist demo. After the programmed end of it, a different and smaller group of 50 persons, marched towards the fascist partie headquarters, but the riot police stoped them with brutality, and eleven arrests were performed.

In the wake of recent revelations of widespread torture and abuse at the Guantánamo Bay prison camp, the US Justice Department has taken legal action to restrict lawyers’ access to their clients incarcerated there. These lawyers have been an important source of news from inside the camp, despite being already subject to a strict set of rules established by the Pentagon and the DC Court of Appeals in 2004.
