Tarnac 9: Summons for examination of witnesses in Berlin and Hamburg

Recently three people in Germany received an order to appear in the court of Berlin, resp. Hamburg next week to speak out against comrades in France. None of them will speak to the judge, in both places collective public appearances will take place. You find the call out for the thing in Berlin below, the Hamburg text is not translated so far, but the idea is pretty much the same. As well you will find here a text written after the Berlin police was sent to the house of one of these comrades to steal her handwriting for a comparison with a letter found with one of the people in the Tarnac proceedings. The attempt was not successful so far.

Greece: last prisoner of the revolthas bail appl. rejected, now on hunger strike

Thodoros Iliopoulos is an anarchist and the last prisoner of December’s revolt still in pre-trial detention. He has been in prison since December and as of yesterday is the only prisoner of the revolt to be denied bail - still. On July 9 the court of appeals made explicit, in rejecting Iliopoulos’ application, that it did so on the grounds that Iliopoulos is an anarchist and therefore a “danger for democracy”.

Iran- released prisoner was told: Be grateful you have not been killed !!

According to an eye witness at yesterday’s gathering at Evin, one of the imprisoned who was released whilst people were gathered, said that he had been arrested around Afsariyeh in Tehran and taken to an undisclosed location. He was denied food for 48 hours. There were 500 people detained on the floor where he was and they had no access to showers or sanitation. After 48 hours, they were given bread, potato and cheese.

On Monday, June 30, 21 passengers going to challenge the blockade of Gaza on board the Spirit of Humanity were seized by the Israeli Navy and taken to Israel against their will. All their equipment was taken and some of were roughed up. All were thrown into prison to await Israel's decision on how and when they would be deported.

The majority of the group ended up in Ramle Prison. Those of us who are Free Gaza organizers had been hearing some news from them, statements, interviews and letters since they arrived. From the first night, the Free Gaza 21 have been busy trying to get news out of the prison about the illegality of Israel's actions in relation to themselves and the other inmates inside Ramle Prison who have no voice.
