Police herd Gaza demo out of Kensington 17th January - video

18-01-2009 05:37

Video the thick yellow line
As the police blocked people marching from Trafalgar Square to the Kensington, causing chaos on many Westminster streets as a result, there was also a small demonstration at the Israeli embassy, with a massive police presence.

From 7pm the protesters were repeatedly told that their time was up, and that they had to leave the area, at 7:30 police began to push them out of the barrier cage towards Kensington High Street tube, but as on nearly every day people tried to take the road rather than the pavement. There was a standoff, and reinforcements were sent in before the protesters, now numbering around 80, were slowly marched into the underground station by at least 100 police in riot gear. Another 50 police and several horses remained at the embassy.

Phosphorus denial outweighed by evidence: Uncomparable pain and horror for the

16-01-2009 16:20

"There are many ways to “light” a battle field. In Gaza, no such area exists anyway. There are just people’s hovels, holes and “homes.” Such as they are after years of blockade and bombardment by Israeli forces. The White phorpous is a terror weapon perfect for driving people away, “never to return.” The Zionist dream is and has always been for many, at least, to remove the native Arab population and posses all of “Greater Israel.” This inhuman weapon nicknamed “Willie Pete.” is perfect for the effort. When it comes into contact with human flesh it moves down toward the bone, tissues evaporate. Victims may survive for some time before vital organs are compromised, effecting death. Parents may be forced to end their children’s wild sufferings by shortening their lives in “other ways.”

SHAC sentencing and festering hypocrisy

16-01-2009 11:59

It is one thing to condemn direct action which may be illegal. It is quite another to cherry pick certain causes, condone direct action whilst condemning others or using the same tactics.

A systemic crisis in Greece

14-01-2009 22:59

The cold blooded murder of a 15 year old student ―part of a long sequence of murders and police brutalities that characterized the entire post-civil war period in Greece, including the post-junta period― acted as a catalyst for a social explosion and, at the same time, made abundantly clear the continuous worsening of the multidimensional crisis to which we have referred many times in the past.

An overview about the resistance against the NATO summit in Strasbourg and Baden

14-01-2009 11:09

Smash we can!

One purpose of the meeting in Strasbourg from January 16th to 18th (see  http://gipfelsoli.org/NATO_2009_english/5912.html) is, apart from networking and common planning, to get a mutual knowledge of powers and weaknesses of the movements in different european countries.

For this, we translated a text that was published in a german lefty monthly newspaper and gives a summary of activities. But the text does not regard the current situation of a "non-dogmatic" radical, anarchist, autonomous left in Germany. To provide that, see this brief summary.
