when is a flag a terrorist flag? the answer, it seems, depends on who and where you are! to a tamil student in parliament square, it is, and they're arrested (and fined?!). but if you stand outside new scotland yard and challenge the police to arrest you and test it in court, suddenly it magically becomes the tamil eelam national flag and is NOT proscribed. murky goings-on at parliament square.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner has previously condemned Total as "the biggest supporter of the military regime in Burma". French Total Oil funds the evil military regime with approximately 500 million dollars a year from its operation of the Yadana gas pipeline, that is used by the corrupt generals to slaughter ethnic minorities, students, monks and anyone who speaks out for human rights and justice in Burma.

On May 16th, over 1000 people gathered to participate in the occupation movement festival in Lund, which featured food, music, entertainment and of course SQUATTING! During Saturday two buildings, Bredgatan 4 and Observatory in the City Park were occupied, and during the night so were Sunday two unused buildings on the St Lars.

"Aid officials, human rights campaigners and politicians claim Tamils have been driven out of areas in the north-east of the country by killings and kidnappings carried out by pro-government militias. They say the government has simultaneously encouraged members of the Sinhalese majority in the south to relocate to the vacated villages," Telegraph, UK, said, adding that according to an aid worker the recent killings in Trincomalee "were part of a strategy to drive out Tamils."

PRESS RELEASE: Appeal Court ruling upholds Human Rights & Democracy

LONDON: Today, Thursday 21 May 2009, the Court of Appeal found that
the Metropolitan police broke the law in its routine surveillance of people involved
in lawful and peaceful political activity[1]. The legal action arose when staff members from Campaign Against Arms Trade legitimately attended the 2005 Annual General Meeting of
Reed Elsevier, as shareholders, to question the board about its acquisition of
a company which organised armsfairs[2]. The police will now need to ensure
that their surveillance practices and record keeping comply with the court
ruling and human rights legislation.
