Cartoon Korea - Filtered to Fit
How much do you know about the increased political tensions on the Korean peninsula? The answer, even for diligent readers of the mainstream press, is likely to be 'not much'. In place of serious, penetrating analysis the public has been sold a cartoon version of events based on a well-worn propaganda template. It is a tale spun by journalists who appear to know little of the real issues and who have internalised the key rules of 'balanced' reporting: do not point the finger of blame at your own government (or its allies), and do not question your government's demonisation of official enemies (learn nothing from the past).
Obama Proposes Swift Execution of Alleged 9/11 Conspirators
09-06-2009 00:24
In a leak that seems designed to gauge public opinion - and that of lawyers and other relevant parties around the world - anonymous officials in the Obama administration have told the New York Times about a proposal, in draft legislation to be submitted to Congress, which, as the Times put it, "would clear the way for detainees facing the death penalty [in Guantánamo] to plead guilty without a full trial."

UN report on US executions
31-05-2009 00:20
A report this week for the UN on US domestic and overseas executions calls for a national “commission of inquiry” to investigate cases. It estimates the total number of uninvestigated Private Contractor murders in Iraq "to be in the hundreds, perhaps thousands", while obliquely criticising Obamas deceptive aim of “moving forward”. It also points out no one senior in rank to Major has been prosecuted.Press Release The Final Waging Global War By Way of Deception Report: Statement

The Pakistani military is repeating the same genocidal mayhem as it did in East Pakistan to secede it into Bangladesh. Now it is once again at its best for further balkanizing Pakistan at the behest of its paymasters. There is apparently always some very good justification for practicing the 'war on terror' upon civilian populations.
Bush, Clinton get standing ovation after Toronto 'conversation'

Bush also struck a congenial note when he took the stage, giving Clinton top billing as he told the audience: "Welcome to the Bill and George Show." He joked that his mother, Barbara Bush, told him Clinton has been spending so much time with his own father, former US president George HW Bush, that he is "like a son to her. So brother, it's good to see you."UN concealed carnage to keep Sri Lanka goodwill

Despite massive international pressure, on Wed 27th May, the United Nations Human Rights Council refused calls to investigate allegations of war crimes by both sides. Instead it supported Sri Lanka in handling the humanitarian crisis under it's own initiative. The session had been called because of alarm over the high number of civilian casualties as well as the island's treatment of displaced Tamil civilians. The call by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay for aid agencies to be given free access to the camps so they can provide the Tamils with critical relief was also not agreed upon.
