12-01-2008 11:27

Hundreds gather at the US Embassy...
On Friday several hundreds of volunteers from Amnesty International staged a protest in London near the American Embassy. Building work at the temple of darkness prevented the demonstration from happening right outside. Special mention should go to the attack dogs which gave what can only be described as Oscar worthy performances.

Operation Gladio - NATO's Secret Armies, P1 and P2`Lodge explained

10-01-2008 20:44

Audio
According to several whistleblowers Gladio was one of NATOs most Top Secret Operations ever. The plan was ostenibly to plant arms caches and train saboterus to operate behind enemy lines should the Soviet Union invade Europe.
In fact these arms caches were used by fascists officer cardres and specially selected NATO Special Forces soldiers to ferment terror in Europe that was then blamed on the far left.
At least three murderous terror groups associated with left-wing political causes in Europe have since been exposed as no more than NATO Intelligence 'front organisations'.

Afghanistan: The 'good war' is a bad war

10-01-2008 12:06

In his latest article for the New Statesman, John Pilger describes how the invasion of Afghanistan, which was widely supported in the West as a 'good war' and justifiable response to 9/11, was actually planned months before 9/11 and is the latest instalment of 'a great game'.

"To me, I confess, [countries] are pieces on a chessboard upon which is being played out a game for dominion of the world."
Lord Curzon, viceroy of India, speaking about Afghanistan, 1898

The Bomb in the Shadows: Proliferation, Corruption and the Way of the World

09-01-2008 22:58

This week, the Sunday Times lifted the lid on one of the most important stories of the last quarter-century: how American officials sold nuclear arms technology to illegal proliferators -- including ideological allies of al Qaeda -- in return for bribes and other inducements. This widespread corruption has been protected from exposure by the highest levels of the U.S. government, which has gone to enormous lengths to protect the truth from coming out. The entire planet has been put at grave risk by the greed -- and geopolitical gamesmanship -- that lies behind this criminal enterprise, which actually is even more extensive, and goes back further in time, than the newspaper's remarkable revelations.

Pakistan and the "Global War on Terrorism"

09-01-2008 19:01

The existence of an outside enemy sustains the illusion that the "war on terrorism" is real. It justifies and presents military intervention as a humanitarian operation based on the right to self-defense. It upholds the illusion of a "conflict of civilizations". The underlying purpose ultimately is to conceal the real economic and strategic objectives behind the broader Middle East Central Asian war.

Historically, Pakistan has played a central role in "war on terrorism". Pakistan constitutes from Washington's standpoint a geopolitical hub. It borders onto Afghanistan and Iran. It has played a crucial role in the conduct of US and allied military operations in Afghanistan as well as in the context of the Pentagon's war plans in relation to Iran.

My Special Branch friends

09-01-2008 01:44

Like the many times I have travelled through a UK airport over the last two years (see the first and second times), yesterday too I had a Special Branch officer picking me from the passengers crowd at Birmingham Airport to ask me some 'very important' questions; important to the 'security' of this country and all the 'free' countries in the world. Sometimes I pass through quietly; at others with a few routine questions. But occasionally, especially when it's a new airport or a new officer in charge, I get stopped and questioned for up to an hour.. only to practice in how many different ways I can say "No comment"!

Six years of Guantanamo - Orange Friday National Events

08-01-2008 11:05

After the US government declared war on Afghanistan, hundreds of people were kidnapped by the Northern Alliance and US military forces under "suspicion" of fighting for the Taliban.
