Emergency Protest At Current Hunger Strike At Guantanamo Bay

13-03-2013 09:03

Almost all of the 166 prisoners at Guantánamo Bay have been on hunger strike since early February. This protest which has led to force feeding against the human rights of prisoners and some prisoners losing over 15kg in weight was prompted by the confiscation of personal items from cells and the desecration of copies of the Koran. The situation is desperate, according to their lawyers, yet there has been no mainstream media coverage and little outcry from the international human rights NGO community. Come and join our protest on Sunday.

Britain is on the brink of tyranny.

The Justice and Security Bill, if it becomes law, will enable judicial trials to be held in secret, and it will even be illegal to tell anyone about them. The bill has now gone through all stages in the House of Commons, and will now go to the House of Lords for consideration. In other words, it’s nearly there ( http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2012-13/justiceandsecurity.html).

Iraq: Was it Worth It?...Are You Kidding?

15-02-2013 15:56

Today marks the ten year anniversary of the day over a million people marched against attacking Iraq. The papers are full of ‘Iraq: Was it Worth It?’ articles. To those of us implacably opposed to this attack, such a question is as ludicrous as asking ‘The Holocaust: Was it Worth it?’ The bogus War on Terror and the neoliberal principle of intervention for profit under the guise of extending democracy has made the world a more dangerous place. Pursuing this ideology in the face of mass opposition has made the world a less democratic place.

The Imperialist Assault against Africa and its Origins

25-01-2013 22:10

It immediately crystallises awareness when in the age of panapocalyptic austerity and fictional accounting calculus someone is trying to strike a big deal with the fascist state. Not that the topic of prisoner release was not a fertile field for direct action, as any targeting of the cancer which is eating up imperialism from within, but an expectation based on the mutual balance of demands seems quite odd in regard to states which cannot even balance their own currencies, budgets and economies. Any concept of a rational state or remnant thereof from the past has long devolved into a mud hole of infantile dementia with no other agenda than sabotaging every political alternative to it. What is the point in asking a mud hole to release prisoners?

Progressives Are Not Being Honest About Gun Control

22-01-2013 21:50

Few things are more dangerous to a nation’s citizenry than when its leaders decide to turn on their own or selected groupings of their own people (and Jewish people should especially understand this). Tyrannical governments should be feared far more than various types of weapons—especially when tyrants have no or few restrictions on their own selection of weapons. The progressive idea of the 2nd Amendment was the notion that common people can have the right to defend themselves against tyrannical governments (including and especially when their own choose to turn on them—which has happened all throughout history). THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND ITS CURRENT DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL DOES NOT WARRANT TRUST ENOUGH FOR THE AMERICAN CITIZENRY TO HANDOVER GUNS TO THIS CORRUPTED STATUS QUO.
