A 4 vehicle Special Nuclear Material (SNM) convoy left Aldermaston Atomic
Weapons Establishment (AWE) at 10.30 on Friday night 8th February, and
travelled to RAF Brize Norton, arriving at just after midnight early on
Saturday 9th February.

It travelled north on the A34, passing Didcot, Abingdon, leaving the A34 at
Peartree roundabout, and heading into Oxford to the roundabout at the top of
the Wolvercote Road, where it turned and drove west on the A40, past Eynsham
and Witney to RAF Brize Norton. There it entered the base, and parked next
to a waiting RAF C-17 plane. The probability is that items were loaded on
to the convoy vehicles for the journey back to Aldermaston AWE.

The SNM convoy was tracked and monitored by Aldermaston Womens Peace Camp
and Oxford nukewatchers.

Attached is a photo of the convoy vehicles parked next to the C-17 plane,
rear doors open, at RAF Brize Norton.
