72 days after hunger strikes start around the world in protest at the attacks carried out by Iraqi security forces on Camp Ashraf, Iraq releases 36 Iranian pro-democracy prisoners it has been holding arbitrarily in extra-judicial detention.

Disrupting E.ON at London City University undergraduate fair.

E.ON, were holding a talk at the student recruitment fair yesterday. The company is responsible for the planned new coal power stations at Kingsnorth, which combined would produce the same carbon emissions as Ghana. With the report by the Global and Humanitarian forum stating that three hundred thousand people are already dying already each year due to climate change, it isn’t a viable option.

Sheffield Social Centre: Eviction and Relocation

As reported on Sheffield Indymedia, yesterday (6th October) at 1pm the residents of the Social Centre at Pisgah House received notice of an injunction brought against them by the University of Sheffield at Sheffield County Court earlier that morning, and summons for a Possessions Order hearing that afternoon at 3pm.

Protest against Arora's plans to turn hotel into immigration prison

Six activists from No Borders London today held a protest at the Arora International Hotel near Heathrow airport against Arora International's plans to turn its four-star hotel at Gatwick, Mercure, into yet another immigration prison (see press release here:  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2009/10/439267.html).

After a 'friendly' chat with Tim Jurdon, Head of Planning at Arora Management Services Ltd., protesters unfurled a banner reading 'Arora Prisons International' and started to leaflet guests and staff in the lobby. After about 10 minutes, they were dragged out by security guards. Below are some photos and what *you* can do.

Citizen weapons inspectors visit Manchester factory

At just before 8 o'clock on MOnday 5th October 2009, several citizen weapons inspectors from the Target Brimar campaign visited the Chadderton premises of military component manufacturer Brimar. They were seeking information on possible connections between Brimar's products and human rights abuses committed in Gaza and the West Bank, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

“Still Not Loving Police - Still Not Loving Tories”

30 people picketed the entrance to Manchester Town Hall and leafletted top cops from around the country as ACPO members and senior Tories met to discuss policing strategies.

With banners, placards and speech bubbles, the group from Manchester No Borders said: Still Not Loving Police, Still Not Loving Tories - as they returned to the place where they had previously embarrassed council leader Richard Leese with a mountain of jumpers: see  http://nobordersmanchester.blogspot.com/2009/03/jumpers-dumped-on-council-leader-close.html

A large police presence wa nearby with some ten vans and 8 horses in Albert Square. Evidence gatherers also showed up for a while.

wo activists from Brighton are in Palestine and will spend the next month in the Jordan Valley, along with other Brighton-tubas solidarity Group members who will join them over the next few weeks. They will be reporting on the numberous resistance projects in the Jordan Valley, where local Bedouins and other Palestinians are coming together to challenge the occupation by constucting schools, health clinics, homes, playgrounds, roads and water pipes. Fur Demo: Madeleine Ann gets hammered in Solihull

Today (3rd Oct) about ten activists swarmed the front entrance to Madeleine Ann in Solihull to protest against the sale of real fur. Two megaphones where used to humiliate the shop to passing members of the public and literally hundreds of leaflets were given out.
