IWW protests against Total attacks on workers' right to strike

Following the sacking of 647 striking workers by Total last week, the Industrial Workers of the World yesterday (Tuesday) protested outside one of the main Total petrol stations in Birmingham. They called for an end to the further assault on workers' rights.

Aviation biofuels protest targets Virgin Atlantic

On top of Terminal 3 entrance
Activists from Plane Stupid and Action Against Agrofuels protested at Heathrow Terminal 3 outside the Virgin check-in about the proposed use of biofuels for aviation. Monday 22nd June was chosen as it was the 25th anniversary of Virgin Atlantic who plan to meet 5% of their 2015 aviation fuel quota from biofuels. Most of this will inevitably come from palm oil.

"Sorry to say they were removed yesterday to Ethiopia (despite being from Uganda).... her friend talked to her in Addis Ababa and she was okay... still waiting to hear from them once they are in Uganda. We went to Glasgow airport Wednesday to leaflet other passengers as a last effort to no avail. .

Anyway, sad news, but two people in to the Centre today have gotten Indefinite Leave to Remain for themselves and their children -- so some good with the bad."

21st June 2009 -- today an ad hoc group of Israeli boycott activists from many different campaigning groups, including Jewish groups, held the third Tesco supermarket action. They entered two branches in the Shoreditch area of London to protest against the stores' stocking of fruit and vegetable produce from illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
