LSE Union Demands Divestment from Israel

The London School of Economics Students' Union (LSESU) yesterday voted overwhelmingly to call on its university and the National Union of Students (NUS) to divest from companies that provide military and commercial support for the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, condemning the decades of human rights abuses and systematic oppression that has occurred as a result.

Glasgow the Brave: People in Glasgow found the idea that refugees should be arrested and returned to a brutal regime, which they had bravely opposed, completely unacceptable and took to the streets to protest. Many of these protests helped to form Anti-Deportation campaigns, which were the inspiration for the wider defence of refugees, which has been mounted across Glasgow over the years often to considerable success.

Interviews At UK Indymedia Network Meeting

On Saturday and Sunday, Nottingham hosted a national gathering of the UK Indymedia network, bringing together around 40 people from as far afield as Scotland and Bristol.

A whole host of issues were discussed, such as the future of Indymedia, developments on the startpage and calendar, and aspects of moderating the site. A range of viewpoints on the role of Indymedia were expressed, and a number of proposals to take the project forward will be implemented as a result of the gathering.
