The News Cast
20 Palestinian civilians were kidnapped by Israeli troops on Wednesday during morning invasions targeting a number of West Bank communities.
Local sources reported invasions in the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron, in the southern West Bank, in addition to Nablus in the northern West Bank.
The Israeli army radio announced that all 20 men were taken to military detention camps for questioning.
In Jerusalem on Wednesday Israeli right wing groups announced they are to build new settlement constructions in East Jerusalem.
The proposed 105 housing units will be added to the 91 houses under construction in the settlement of Nof Tsimon, south of Jerusalem’s old city, Israeli media sources reported.
The US administration and the Palestinians have demanded a total freeze on settlement construction before the resumption of peace talks with Israel.
Elsewhere Israeli tanks and bulldozers invaded border areas close to Gaza City on Wednesday.
Local sources announced that bulldozers destroyed farm lands, while tanks shelled a local school nearby, causing damage to classrooms and the school library.
The school has been attacked three times in the past three years.
