Things have recently got much worse for CIPO-RFM. When we met them before Christmas there was a lull in the repression. Right now (December 29th 2004) a brief look at their website suggests that the Oaxaca government have started a new campaign against them using the Police and the media. There has never been a more urgent time to support them in whatever way you can……

Sherwood Protest Camp Evicted [Photos]

Well, over a year now, that folks have been living on the site, but 50 bailiffs and a hundred or so police, [including the road-blocks around the district, evicted the three people living there today. Through the course of the afternoon, I watched them saw down a 300 year old beech tree to make way for some more 'progress'.

Demonstration against migration management and forced integration

The EU-ministers responsible for immigration and refugee policies are convening in Groningen, Netherlands from the 9th until the 11th of November to discuss integration. Integration is the latest part of their harsh immigration and refugee policy. Platform N10 wants to protest and give alternatives to this policy.

The immigration and refugee policy is mainly intended to keep refugees and migrants out of the borders of Fortress Europe. Those who do receive permission to stay will not get the same rights as an EU-citizen. By differentiating between two kinds of citizenship, the EU wants only to profit from the labour contribution of these new citizens. However, at the same time, the EU undermines the existence of this group of people by cutting back their social securities. N10 wants same rights for everybody!

Insurectory pointing in the city.

The Lab of Insurectory Imagination went on a tour of the city (one of the most heavily CCTVed places on earth) and pointed into the cameras to confuse and annoy those watching the monitors on the other side. Those who may consider this activity to be pointless should consider that dozens of cops were kept busy for the duration of the action and were therefore unable to carry out their usual duties like harrassing the financial district's homeless.
