British Criminal Cold War Germ Experiments

13-04-2007 22:29

In the early 1970s the English Channel was the busiest area for shipping traffic in the world, and would often be used by various nations for testing defense initiatives. One night we had a senior British intelligence officer on board who waited until the wind was blowing toward the British coast, then got the lids off three large metal containers so the fine dust would be taken across to shore. Suddenly, excitement broke loose as we saw some strange experimental craft, these were very low in the water, camouflaged and fast and almost invisible to the naked eye, but silent. We watched and about 10 in all went past some distance away at high speed.

GM Crop Trials - Protest

09-04-2007 09:21

The first GM Crop Trials in years are getting underway in Cambridge. This is widely being viewed as a test of public opinion and if we let these trials go ahead with little or no opposition, more GM trials, and eventually commercial growing will be here before we know it. Please come along and support this protest and keep an eye on our (currently very basic) website -  http://www.cambridgeaction.net/gmconcern

Date Rape Drugs as weapons

06-04-2007 19:42

I don't agree with judicial attitudes to drugs, I think all drugs should be legal. I just don't agree with rape, with drugs being used as weapons. I hate the insecure 'macho-men' who feel they can take who they want by force, but still need to spike drinks. Anyway, apologies, but this is going to sound like like a lecture by your mum or your local neighbouhood copper, or worse, like a Guardian editorial. I can't avoid that.

Swiss Court Ruling Allows Euthanasia For Mentally Ill

03-04-2007 16:11

The move has been labelled as "dangerous" as it could lead to a rapid rise in the number of people travelling to Switzerland for assisted suicide.
