It is basically my response to news about some new anti-cannabis adverts I saw on television on the ABC world news on the morning of Oct. 24, 2006. I cannot stand the outright lies they are foisting on the kids and adults who have already had enough yellow journalistic scare tactics already to get us involved in Iraq and don't need any more such from Industrialists and politicians or some Vicars.

Today, (18th October) Shari Vahl on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours programme investigated a businessman called John Bridle. His company “Asbestos Watchdog” has claimed to be:

“The only UK organisation that can provide unbiased information about asbestos”

The BBC claim that two of the UK’s biggest house builders have been using an asbestos surveyor who is carrying out analysis which the Health and Safety Executive say is illegal.

Most people will have heard about the selling off of a massive area of the NHS to the private 'German' distributor, DHL, who this month are poised to takeover (from NHS Logistics) the warehousing and supply of thousands of items used by NHS hospitals and GP surgeries across the country. What is less widely mentioned in the press, perhaps as it's not as obvious in terms of effect on front-line public sector jobs, is that a massive US procurement operation Novation is also behind the new contract. Brought in to save money we are told, this Texan based company is under investigation by the US justice department for overcharging federal healthcare programmes for goods!
