is Labour closing Job Centre?

A recent conversation has been overheard between the staff that the Job Centre, which is based in the precint in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, may be under the threat of closure.

It is believed that senior management are in consultation with the Disdbury Job Centre on Palatine Road, for all services to be tranferred onto the one site. However it is believed the proposal is currently being drafted.

It is believed that this may take place after the next General Election, as the Labour councillors for Chorlton fear that an announcement before, could potentially effect the Labour vote, which lost its parliamentry seat to the Liberals at the last election.

It is said by inside sources, that management have not taken into consideration local service users, which include many disabled people, lone parents, youths and the elderly and the proposal is apparently causing much anger amongst staff.

More information is not yet available on this and this story, as of yet, has neither been denied or confirmed.

Maybe it's Manchester, maybe it's Maybeline?
